Throughout our report we have analyzed information systems used by the Kohl's corporation. The manager we interviewed, Nicole Drzewoszewski. She is a high school graduate, as for her professional background, she started working in retail industry at the age of 17 and has remained in the industry for 27 years. Drzewoszeski is currently the Apparel and Accessories assistant store manager at Kohl's. We have gained a huge insight about how IS help Kohl's with their competitive strategy. Our team focused on two types of business processes, one structured and one dynamic process. The structured process we focused on was Kohl's online sales. The dynamic business process we focused on was how Kohl's uses social media to market their products and sevices to the public. We then analyzed the 5 components of IS: the hardware, software, data, procedures and people of Kohl's. We found some issues regarding their IS and came up with some suggestions to improve them. Our group recommended that a better Wi-Fi connection and upgrading Bluebird devices from dual core to quad core would help make Kohl's daily procedures more convenient. We also recommended that Kohl's expand on their social media usage to market to the younger and future generations. A lot of companies have now made a Snapchat account to target a younger audience. With Snapchat being the most popular social media app, Kohl's should take part in using it for promoting sales, and getting more attention by creating interesting filters, and including coupons for in-store.
